One month remaining until our Scottish Business Political Dinner

The UK BCSD Annual Scottish dinner is one of a series of annual business-political events which we hold across the UK for our members.

These dinners provide a platform from which we can raise and debate issues relating to sustainability with policymakers in an informal setting.

This year’s Annual Dinner will be held on the evening of Wednesday 22nd February 2017 at 1930h at the Scotsman Hotel.

Our key note speaker will be Jamie Hepburn MSP, Minister for Employability and Training

Jamie Hepburn MSPJamie Hepburn was educated at Hyndland Secondary and the University of Glasgow, graduating with a degree in Politics and History.

He served as National Convener of the SNP’s student and youth wings. Jamie Hepburn was MSP for Central Scotland between 2007 and 2011 and has been MSP for Cumbernauld & Kilsyth since 2011. Jamie was appointed as Minister for Sport, Health Improvement & Mental Health on November 21, 2014 and appointed as Minister for Employability and Training in May 2016.

Jamie lives in his constituency with his wife, Julie, and two children.

The dinner is open for members to bring guests. In addition to the opportunity to debate with the Keynote Speaker and politicians, it is also a forum to meet fellow members and for potential members to find out more about UK BCSD.
The traditional format is for a formal but general discussion session after the Keynote speech, which provides the opportunity for everyone to take part and raise issues or ask questions. However the remainder of the evening is relatively informal and there is time for networking before, during and at the end of the event.
